For our 27th KinderConcert on Sunday 29th May at 3pm we are pleased to have Euan Meikle back, who will show and play his trumpet for us!
Euan graduated with a BMus(Hons) from Edinburgh Napier University, where he studied the Trumpet under the direction of sub-principle trumpeter of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Marcus Pope. Euan is working in Edinburgh as an instrumental tutor and has accepted a position as Musical Director of a junior brass band; teaching and conducting 40 young brass players and is taking them to their first Scottish Junior Championship in November. Euan is a keen performer and plays for a variety of orchestras and bands across Scotland. As part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2014, Euan was involved with multiple productions including Les Miserables and The Blues Brothers Live whilst working as a soloist for weddings and concerts.
KinderConcerts are designed as a gentle introduction to classical and traditional music for your child in a friendly environment, giving them a taster of different instruments. Your child might want to take up an instrument and would like to see different options in action, played by professional musicians or exceptional gifted students, or you’d like to broaden your children’s musical horizon? Then look no further – KinderConcerts is the place to be! A typical KinderConcert lasts about one hour: a 30-40min performance, followed by a Q&A session with the musician. Afterwards we round off our KinderConcert experience with tea, coffee, juice, snacks and socializing!
Please do let us know as soon as possible whether you would like to attend and how many of you there will be – although we have a big space, we’d still like to make sure we have a small audience and an intimate atmosphere.
Reservation is essential. If you miss out this time, we hope to welcome you to one of our future KinderConcerts.
